གང་ལས་བྱུང་བ་བརྒྱུད་པའི་རིམ་པའི་རྣམ་ཐར་ལོ་རྒྱུས་ (Vol. 1)

This section contains biographies of early figures, most notably Guru Pema Jungne and his disciples, including Kongtrul’s own revelations of the lives of Pad+ma 'byung gnas and Bai ro tsa na, along with his compendium of terton biographies (gter ston rgya tsa), which set forth the origins of the teachings found in the following volumes. There are also supplication prayers to the life stories of 'jam dbyangs mkhyen brtse'i dbang po, Mchog gyur gling pa, and 'jam mgon kong sprul, the three most prominent later figures involved in the creation of the Rinchen TerdzöTerdzo.
